Overview
LTSCT Cell Monitoring Units (CMUs) are multi-channel cell monitoring and balancing ICs designed for various types of battery packs, including Li-Ion, LiFePO4, and NMC. CMU ICs support monitoring of up to 16 cells in series, with scalable designs that can extend to support 18- and 22-cell battery packs. These ICs are suitable for applications in the automotive sector, industrial energy storage systems, and consumer electronics.
The ICs offer key functions such as cell voltage measurement, temperature monitoring, cell balancing, and isolated communication with the main battery management controller unit. Each unit features 18-bit ΣΔ ADCs (Sigma-Delta Analog-to-Digital Converters) for precise sensing of cell voltage, pack voltage, current, temperature, and auxiliary signals, with ±1 mV ADC TME and ultra-low long-term drift. They provide high-accuracy cell voltage measurements within 15.625 μs for all channels, support busbar connections, and include low-power modes and cell balancing currents of up to 300 mA per channel.
