Overview
The LTSC5040 is a multi-channel power management integrated circuit (PMIC) designed to provide flexible power solutions. It features four channels: a synchronous buck converter, a configurable bidirectional synchronous buck/boost converter, a low dropout regulator (LDO), and a load switch, all equipped with internal FETs. The buck channel operates within a voltage range of 2.5 V to 17 V, with an absolute maximum of 23 V. The other three channels operate in a voltage range of 1 V to 5.5 V, with an absolute maximum voltage of 7 V. The buck channel employs an advanced ripple modulator control scheme to ensure rapid response to load transients. It includes reverse current protection and overcurrent protection, supporting a load current of up to 2 A.
The bidirectional channel uses average current mode control, allowing for smooth transitions in boost mode. It can be configured to operate in either buck or boost modes, with integrated FETs supporting a maximum switching current limit of 8 A. The LDO and load switch channels also use internal FETs with a foldback current limit. Equipped with integrated telemetry and a 10-bit ADC, the PMIC enables remote monitoring and dynamic control, while incorporating a wide range of protection features.
